They say that it comes,
And they say that it goes,
This feeling of dark despair;
It comes as it goes.
It bled me clean,
And it stripped my soul.
But still I suffered,
Because they said it'll go.
They said I'll be OK,
But then what did they know
How past over the horizon,
I had sailed in my boat.
Because for me it came
And then took a little too long to go.
And before I could reason,
it flew me in its flow.
But like they never tell you,
And something I'd always known,
Putting the pieces together
Does not make a whole.
Convinced by my conviction
And propelled by the flow,
I attacked my oars with vigour
To reach my sun of hope.
Way past the horizon
I chased the sun to dusk,
And having lost it to the sea
The last of my hopes felt dunked.
But like they said to me
Before I left the shore,
Happiness did come knocking
But I failed to get the door.
Enlightened by the darkness
And blinded for want of light,
I took my plunge in earnest,
And so I took my flight.
But the sun did come up
Just as they said it would,
And then it went on shining
Through the times for those who stood.
And they say that it goes,
This feeling of dark despair;
It comes as it goes.
It bled me clean,
And it stripped my soul.
But still I suffered,
Because they said it'll go.
They said I'll be OK,
But then what did they know
How past over the horizon,
I had sailed in my boat.
Because for me it came
And then took a little too long to go.
And before I could reason,
it flew me in its flow.
But like they never tell you,
And something I'd always known,
Putting the pieces together
Does not make a whole.
Convinced by my conviction
And propelled by the flow,
I attacked my oars with vigour
To reach my sun of hope.
Way past the horizon

And having lost it to the sea

I love that portion. It conveys so much.
:)
Thanks Vrinda. And thanks for noticing. Incidentally everyone else read past it so I felt maybe my selection of words wasn't apt. Because these particular lines mean a lot me too! :)

Well.. I'm not. At least not in the sense of the word. I just write stuff sporadically and upload what I find is good.
DeleteAnd let me see about that. I don't have to enter any code so I never realised others had to!
