Time and again we all must have been asked to change ourselves to be in line with the people around us and the situations we come across. That being still justified, what I can't understand is why we end up changing ourselves to become appealing to other people and more specifically a single person? Isn't being yourself the virtue in such cases. Or are we supposed to control and modify ourselves every step of the way?
More often than naught, we all must have reached a time when we must have striven to put ourselves out with our best foot forward. I feel that because I have. And though at that time it seems like the right thing to do, I have learnt, the hard way, that it just isn't so. We change ourselves and lose the person that we have always been, eventually losing our individuality and coming at mercy of the other person. And if, in the end, the entire exercise is an effort in futility, we find ourselves lost.
The point that I'm trying to make is that we need to ensure that in our life we are happy and content being the person that we are. So that there never is a reason enough that can convince us to change. Because, personally, that's the worst thing we can do to ourselves. And the last thing I'll ever do again!

Why relying only on GPS in India is a bad idea!
We had to attend a birthday party yesterday for which we had to travel from Gurgaon to Civil Lines. My awesome brother decided to go the American way to reach the spot. And guess what? We got stuck. And that too in the middle of a traffic jam of bullock carts, rickshaws and thelas in Old Delhi!
Then what, for the party starting at 4:00 pm, at 6:00 pm we were still not even close to where we had to reach. So after being on the road for more than 2.5 hours we still never made it to the party!
I personally believe that a user should get more out of GPS than just routes and ways. An estimation of the traffic density besides alternate routes to reach the spot should also be made available so that we get to make a choice as to which is the best way to be taken by us.
Have you ever been faced with such a problem? And if even you haven't, what are your views on my suggestions?
